Industry-Leading Low Inertia
In order to reproduce the same response as that of an engine, we pursued even lower inertia based on a low-inertia permanent magnet synchronous motor (ED motor). The S-DSD Series moment of inertia (J) is 1/10 or less than that of motors of the same output.

Transient Operation Comparable to Actual Vehicle
By combining the low-inertia S-DSD Series with our VF66SV high-response inverter, we were able to achieve a torque frequency response of 2.4 kHz. This enabled us to reproduce more engine-like behavior.
Possible to Install Under Same Conditions as Actual Vehicle
S-DSD Series motors are significantly smaller and lighter than normal ED and UF motors. Configurations that approximate an actual vehicle, which had been impossible in the past, such as the use of an FF transaxle tester, are now possible. In combination with vertical and lateral movement mechanisms, tests can be conducted under conditions similar to those of actual vehicles.
