Toyo Denki Seizo contributes to society through manufacturing in three business segments. In the Transportation Business, we help provide comfort and safety in railway transport. In the Industry Business, we support everyday living and work toward greater energy efficiency. Finally, in the ICT Solution Business, we use networks to ensure reliable monitoring of operations.

Business Segments

Introducing Our Businesses

Transportation Business

The electrical equipment for railway vehicles handled by the Group include control and drive systems, as well as the actual mechanisms used in railway vehicles.
As Japan’s only manufacturer capable of developing, designing, and producing all major electrical components essential to train operation, including pantographs that supply power to the train and driving gear units that transmit motor drive to the wheels, we help ensure safe and reliable railway transportation.

Industry Business

We use advanced power electronics technology to provide social infrastructure facilities that are essential to everyday living, including testing systems for automobiles, production and processing equipment drive systems for the manufacturing industry, and power generation and power supply systems.
Our strength lies in constructing sophisticated systems using compact, energy-efficient motors and superior motor drive technology.

ICT Solution Business

By combining advanced information and communication technology with mechatronics, we conduct operations in two fields.
We provide high-performance, reliable railway station operating equipment systems for information processing operations involving railway ticket issuing and checking systems, including issuing commuter passes and onboard tickets. Our IoT solutions use cloud technology to enable equipment and location monitoring, contributing to labor savings and reduced maintenance for our customers.

Over a Century of History at Toyo Denki Seizo

Toyo Denki Seizo was founded in 1918 with the purpose of producing electrical equipment for railway applications domestically. The name Toyo Denki Seizo (meaning “Eastern Electrical Appliance Manufacturing”) reflects our founding ambition to contribute to the development of the nation by exporting products across Asia, not just within Japan.
This spirit has been passed down through generations of employees, leading to the creation of numerous products which were the first of their kind in the world or in Japan. Going forward, we will continue to support the advancement of global social and industrial infrastructure systems under the banner of “Technology Toyo.”
