Toyo Denki's Environmental Initiatives

The Yokohama Works production facility of Toyo Denki engages in a wide range of environmental initiatives under the direction of an Environmental Management Committee. These initiatives are focused on reducing waste, fighting global warming and supplying products and systems that are friendly to the global environment.
Since 2007, Toyo Denki has also been involved in the Team Minus 6 Percent initiative promoted by the Japanese government, joining in programs designed to reduce energy consumption in plants and offices as well as the households of employees.

At Offices

As early as 2004, Toyo Denki adopted office policies to promote casual dress codes and raise air-conditioning temperatures during summer months, foreshadowing the Japanese government's Cool Biz initiative. In addition, the company has adopted policies to turn off lighting during lunch breaks and shut down computers when workers are away from their desks.
By Employees and Their Families

As part of the Challenge 25 campaign, Toyo Denki provides its employees with household environmental account books that enable employees and their families to track and reduce their energy consumption.
